Account & Data Deletion Request

In compliance with Google Play Developer Policies and applicable data protection regulations (POPIA), users of Rizilient Waste can delete their account and associated data. You can delete directly within the mobile app (instant) or enter your email below to receive a secure confirmation link.

Option 1: Delete Account in the Mobile App (Instant)

Fastest method if you have the Rizilient Waste app installed on your Android or iOS device

    Open the Rizilient Waste app on your device.

  2. 2Sign in with your registered email and password if prompted.
  3. 3Navigate to the Profile screen via the bottom navigation bar.
  4. 4Scroll to the bottom Account section and tap Delete Account.
  5. 5Confirm the prompt. Your account is immediately deactivated, active bookings are cancelled, and a confirmation email is sent.
Immediate Effect: Once confirmed in-app, collection drivers will no longer be dispatched, and your account enters the 30-day grace period for restoration.

Option 2: Submit an Online Account Deletion Request

Types of Data Deleted & Retention Schedule

Transparent disclosure of what is deleted, what is retained, and our 30-day grace period.

Data That Is Deleted

  • User Profile: Full name, surname, email address, phone number, and hashed credentials.
  • Profile Media: Avatar photo and any verification photos.
  • Saved Locations: Pickup street addresses and geocoded GPS coordinates.
  • Active Bookings: All scheduled, in-progress, or pending recyclable waste pickups are cancelled immediately.
  • Device Tokens: Push notification tokens and session links.

Retention Periods & Grace Period

  • 30-Day Restoration Window: Accounts are deactivated immediately upon verification. If you change your mind, simply log in within 30 days to automatically reactivate your profile, points, and history.
  • Permanent Purge: After 30 days of deactivation, personal data is permanently purged from active databases.
  • Anonymized Compliance Records: Non-personal aggregated recycling tonnage metrics and financial payout audit logs required by South African law are retained without personal identifiers.
